Local Government Act of Japan started 60 years ago and JAPAN 47 PREFECTURES COIN PROGRAM has been started in commemoration. There are 47 prefectures in Japan. The silver coin whose face value is 1,000yen and the bi-color clad coin whose face value is 500yen, are to be published one by one as memorial coins.
Aichi Prefectural Office Main Building and Japanese iris (Aichi Prefectural flower) is drawn on Coin surface.
The building is a hisorical building and was built in 1938 in commemoration of Showa Emperor coronation and its series of ceremonies. This building is located in NAGOYA city of AICHI prefecture.
KAKITSUBATA(Rabbitear Iris) is the symbolic flower of AICHI prefecture in honor of historical event involving a famous historical figure, NARIHIRA ARIHARA.
